Cable Car from Bolzano – Bozen Italy, up the mountain to Soprabolzano
As part of our weekend trip to Bolzano, we decided to try out the famous cable car that ascends from the edge of Bolzano. We opted to buy the full ticket package which included a ride up, a train ticket once we got to the top, and finally the trip back down the mountain. At the time of writing, this was 15 Euro per person, a bargain in my opinion. We were able to purchase the tickets from the on site location using a credit card.
After wandering around in the small town of Klobenstein (Collalbo) enjoying the clean mountain air, we decided to have lunch at the Cafe Zentral. https://www.zentral-ritten.com/
I had the Spinat – und Käseknödel mit Krautsalat (spinach and cheese dumplings with coleslaw) a regional dish. (Spinach, cheese, and beet, the colors of the Italian flag.) I also had a beet root salad which I, unfortunately, forgot to photograph. It was a chilled thinly sliced beet with olive oil. Very tasty and refreshing.
